George Brownlee was born in June of 1853 in Edinburgh, Midlothian, Scotland. George immigrated to USA in 1871[1] and was married on 25 December 1876 in Greene Co., Iowa to Alice Whitney. He died 1922. They had issue: (8 children, mostly born in Boone County Iowa[2]) 1. Arthur Brownlee born August 1879[3] in Iowa 2. Bertha Brownlee born July 1881[4] in Iowa 3. John Brownlee born August 1896[9] in Iowa 8. Roy Brownlee born 20 September 1901[10] in Iowa
